New technology is changing the way receivers are being designed and the IC-7300 is an industry first as an RF, Direct Sampling System is being used in an entry level HF radio. The ability to digitize RF before various receiver stages reduces the inherent noise that is generated in the different IF stages of a radio. We feel the performance of the ‘7300 will far exceed your expectations for a radio considered entry level.

The Icom IC-9700 is the first VHF/UHF/1200 MHz transceiver which introduces the RF direct sampling system for the 144 and 430 MHz bands, a real-time spectrum scope and waterfall function. The RF direct sampling system has already provided high performance in Icom's IC-7610 and IC-7300 HF transceivers. In addition, the spectrum scope and waterfall function have been indispensable tools for operators to increase QSO opportunities, without missing weak signals. The radio has many other impressive features including a built-in 1200 MHz band, 4.3 inch TFT colour touchscreen display, full duplex with Dualwatch on separate bands, Satellite mode, D-STAR DV (Digital Voice) /DD (Digital Data) modes and Terminal/Access point modes. Also, a newly designed power amplifier and cooling system provide stable and high-efficiency operation, even when continuously transmitting for a long time.

Used Osprey DGPS DGPS Tanker Berthing Aid Technical System - SALE !! (Osprey DGPS)
The system is completely self contained and consists of a BASE STATION permanently installed on the FPSO and a lightweight PORTABLE unit to be hand carried onto the approaching tanker. The two units communicate via integral radio transceivers operating on a single UHF or VHF frequency and both units provide a real time graphical display of the berthing process with sub meter positional accuracy.

The system provides the following information:

Relative distance (CLOSEST POINT) between SPM and tanker
Relative speed and angle of tanker approach
Difference in relative heading (angle)
Absolute tanker heading
Absolute tanker speed, direction, and acceleration
SPM mooring position
Hawser tension (with load pin installed on buoy)

The system provides two basic functions, the first as a berthing aid providing precise information on approach distance, position, and speed. The second is for use as a mooring aid providing audible and visual alarms on collision danger, and more importantly a difference in heading alarm, giving a vital early warning of tanker fishtailing.

If the SPM is fitted with a hawser tension monitor the signal may be transmitted to the tanker unit for display. Again a vital indicator for safe loading. Finally the portable unit is fitted with two pushbuttons that may be user defined e.g. pump control or ESD functions.

Tanker Portable Unit

The tanker portable unit, now a second generation design, consists of a highly integrated device housed in a sealed aluminium briefcase. The unit contains an embedded microprocessor with full colour TFT liquid crystal touch screen, a GPS satellite receiver, a radio transceiver for communication to the SPM, and a gyroscope compass to determine the vessel heading. All internal components are shock mounted and contain NO moving parts to minimise vibration susceptibility. The unit includes all necessary cables and antennas for operation and once on board the tanker the unit can be deployed on the bridge in less than ten minutes ready for use. Apart from external power there are NO physical connections to the tanker ensuring 100% compatibility with ANY vessel.

Microsoft Windows NT embedded operating system
266MHz Intel Tillamook Pentium processor
XGA TFT colour LCD screen
Impact resistant TOUCH screen interface
Internal DGPS receiver
Internal 1W radio transceiver
Internal gyroscope compass
Internal loud speaker
Manual ESD I and ESD II pushbuttons
AC/DC wide input power supply
External UHF/GPS antenna with magnetic and clamp fixing

Typical Operating Display
Both the tanker and base station use Microsoft Windows NT as the graphical user interface running the OSPREY application software. The software has been specifically written to be user friendly and with the touch screen interface a novice can master the system in minutes. All options are accessible via menu toolbars which allow the operator to call up any parameter in a small data window at a moment notice.

Two typical screens are shown below. They both detail the tanker on approach to the SPM buoy. The approach distance, speed, and bearing are displayed along with the SPM turntable heading and the tanker heading. With additional instruments on the SPM the wind speed and direction and sea current speed and direction may also be displayed. All provide additional information during berthing.

Vessel Profile

To assist the pilot in deploying the tanker unit the system makes use of VESSEL PROFILES to record the dimensions of the tanker and the previous position of the GPS antenna. The ultimate accuracy of the system depends on how accurately the GPS antenna is placed on the tanker. The configuration screen attempts to assist to operator by asking for the length and breadth of the tanker and then the position of the GPS antenna. Once recorded the configuration may be saved as a PROFILE identified by the vessel name. Thus on the vessel's return visit the configuration may be recalled rather than re entered.

To assist the operator to align the portable unit's gyroscope the window shown on the left may be called at any time to let the operator make a heading correction.

The System
The OSPREY system consists of three units, a non moving base station to provide an absolute reference for the differential GPS system, a unit on the SPM buoy, and the tanker portable unit. The base station generates DGPS correction factors which are then transmitted to the other units to correct their position to a sub meter accuracy.

The 12.1” color radar FR-8005 series features state of the art signal processing, whichmakes it easier to identify targets in heavy rain and poor visibility. The FR-8005 radar can discern between rain and surface reflections, providing the ability to find and track the movement of rain clouds as well as removing unnecessary echoes. For tracking the movement of other vessels at sea, “True Motion Trails” can be displayed as well as AIS/TT target-tracking with a zoom display function. When the vessel is in motion, the radar echoes move smoothly on the main display thanks to the “True View Mode”.

$8,250.00
Used Garmin GNS 530W WAAS GPS/Comm/Nav R/T 28vdc - SALE !! (GNS 530W)

The WAAS-certified GNS 530W and its slightly smaller sibling, GNS 430W, lead the industry with multitasking, integrated avionics and cutting-edge WAAS navigation. The standard GNS 530W features a 10-watt comm, and for a slightly higher price, GNS 530AW delivers 16 watts of power output. Both versions come with optional Class B TAWS alerting to warn you of potential terrain and obstacle conflicts along your flight path.

Integrate Your Avionics

GNS 530W is an all-in-one GPS/Nav/Comm solution. It features a WAAS-certified GPS, 2280-channel capacity comm and 200-channel ILS/VOR with localizer and glideslope. Traditionally it would take a host of components to provide the capabilities of this one smart box. High-speed 5 Hz processing makes navigation calculations and map redraw rates five times faster than earlier GNS series navigators. When installed alongside GTN series avionics, the GNS 430W can automatically receive flight plans from the touchscreen device. The two devices can also share user waypoints back and forth with each other.

Fly WAAS Approaches

GNS 530W comes with built-in WAAS navigation capabilities. It is approved to fly LPV “glideslope” approaches without reference to ground-based navaids of any kind. Featuring an advanced 15-channel receiver capable of five position updates per second, GNS 530W meets the FAA's stringent TSO C146a standards for WAAS "sole means" navigation — providing vertical and lateral approach guidance into thousands of U.S. airports previously inaccessible in IFR conditions.

Get High-Resolution Mapping

GNS 530W's 5-inch high-contrast display with brilliant colors makes it easy to read and interpret pilot-critical information. Effective use of color makes it easy to see your position relative to ground features, chart data, navaids, flight plan routings, approach procedures and more. Conveniently scan information from wide viewing angles, even in direct sunlight.

Enhance Situational Awareness

GNS 530W seamlessly integrates built-in terrain and navigation databases, providing a clear, concise picture of where you are and where you’re heading. The 530W's huge Jeppesen® database, updated with front-loading data cards, contains location reference for all airports, VORs, NDBs, Intersections, Flight Service Stations, published approaches, SIDs/STARs, Special Use Airspace and geopolitical boundaries. A detailed basemap shows airports, cities, highways, railroads, rivers, lakes, coastlines and more. Using information from the built-in terrain and U.S. obstacles databases, the 530W displays color coding to graphically alert you when proximity conflicts loom ahead. In addition, you can augment GNS 530W with optional Class-B Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) for an extra margin of safety in the air.

Put It on Autopilot

Working in tandem with standard autopilots that accept roll-steering commands, GNS 530W behaves like a high-end flight management system (FMS) and can automatically fly your aircraft through holding patterns, procedure turns and other position-critical IFR flight procedures.

Expand Your Panel Mount

GNS 530W is easy to interface with a wide array of optional sensors and tracking systems, allowing you to see and avoid hazards such as threatening weather, lightning or air traffic. With a GDL 88 Datalink, the GNS 530W can display ADS-B traffic targets using TIS-A symbology, as well as subscription-free FIS-B weather information -– including graphical NEXRAD radar, METARs, TAFs and more. An optional subscription to XM WX Satellite Weather™ and the addition of the GDL™ 69 series datalink receiver, you’ll have access to high resolution weather for the U.S., right in the cockpit. Information includes NEXRAD, METARs, TAFs, lightning and more and can be laid directly over Jeppesen and topographic map databases. With an additional monthly service fee, GDL 69A delivers XM Satellite Radio to your aircraft. Add the Garmin GTX 330 Mode S transponder, and GNS 530W will also display Traffic Information Services (TIS) alerts that identify surrounding air traffic.

New Icom IC-7300 HF/50MHz TRANSCEIVER - SALE !! (IC-7300)

RF Direct Sampling System

The IC-7300 employs an RF direct sampling system, where RF signals are directly converted to digital data. Then processed in the FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array), making it possible to simplify the circuit construction as well as reduce noise that can mask weak signals.

The new "IP+" improves the 3rd order intercept point (IP3) performance improving the ability to copy a weak signal that is adjacent to either a strong interfering signal. In this process, A/D converter is optimized to reduce or eliminate signal distortion.

RF Direct Sampling

RMDR and Phase Noise Characteristics

The IC-7300’s RMDR is about 97dB* (typical value) improving the Phase Noise characteristics by about 15dB (at 1 kHz frequency separation). The superior Phase Noise characteristics reduce noise components for both receive and transmit signals.
* At 1 kHz frequency separation (received frequency: 14.2MHz, MODE: CW, IF BW: 500Hz)

RMDR aand phase noise characteristics

15 Discrete Band-Pass Filters

The RF Direct Sampling is protected by an array of bandpass filters. The signal passes through one of the fifteen bandpass filters, where signals outside the passband are rejected. To reduce the insertion loss, the IC-7300 utilizes High Q factor coils.

Large Color Touch Screen

The large 4.3" color TFT touch LCD offers intuitive operation of functions, settings, and various operational visual aids such as the band scope, waterfall function, and audio scope.

Like on the high-end rigs, the waterfall shows a change of signal strength over a period of time and allows you to find weak signals that may not be apparent on the spectrum scope.

Use the audio scope function to observe various AF TX/RX characteristics such as microphone compressor level, filter width, notch filter width and keying waveform in the CW mode. Image below shows the Audio scope with the waterfall function and the oscilloscope.

Real-Time Spectrum Scope

You no longer have to choose whether to listen to the audio or have the spectrum scope sweep for signals as the IC-7300’s real-time spectrum scope offers the simultaneous operations found in some of the more expensive rigs! This means you can use either the spectrum scope or the waterfall to quickly move to an intended signal while listening to the receiver audio. The ‘7300’s touch screen introduces a "Magnify" function. So, when you first touch the scope screen around the intended signal, the touched part is magnified. A second touch of the scope screen changes the operating frequency and allows you to accurately tune.

New Icom IC-9700 VHF/UHF/1200 MHz SDR Transceiver - SALE !! ( IC-9700)
IC-9700 VHF/UHF/1200 MHz SDR Transceiver

The IC-9700 is also the perfect companion to the IC-7300 HF radio. Measuring the same size, both radios provide almost identical operation. Using the IC-9700 and IC-7300 creates the ultimate, compact radio station covering the VHF, UHF, HF and 1200 MHz bands. The IC-9700 is the only VHF/UHF all mode transceiver that enables a variety of VHF/UHF operation including DX, contests, satellite/EME and D-STAR.

144, 430, and 1200 MHz All Mode Transceiver Including Satellite, DV, and DD Modes
Without installing any option unit, you can enjoy Multi-band operation. The IC-9700 includes D-STAR (a digital voice and data protocol specification for amateur radio) DV and DD modes. In addition, Satellite mode is built-in! There are three antenna connectors for 144, 430, and 1200 MHz.

Incorporates Icom’s RF Direct Sampling System
The IC-9700 adopts the RF Direct Sampling system (for 144 MHz and 430 MHz). In this system, signals are processed in the digital domain by the ADC and FPGA. This is different from legacy superheterodyne systems, where the signals are processed in a mixer that includes nonlinear elements. Therefore, the signal purity is very high, and clear audio can be generated. For 1200 MHz, the Down Conversion IF Sampling method is adopted.

Instinctive Operation with the Touch Screen
You can easily set the operating frequency or mode by touching the standby screen. The MENU screen allows you intuitively change settings including those for satellite communication or D-STAR operation. Entering Memory channel names is easy to do on the character input screen.

The Very First VHF/UHF Real-Time Spectrum Scope and Waterfall Display
This is the first time that a real-time spectrum scope and waterfall display comparable to an HF high tier transceiver have been introduced in a VHF/UHF transceiver. With the high-speed spectrum scope, you can instantly grasp your operating band condition and you can set the frequency to a destination signal with a simple touch on the screen. You can also view receive signal history using the waterfall display.

Independent Receiver, Full Duplex Operation
The IC-9700 can simultaneously receive on two different bands, and two different modes. For example, you can receive on the 1200 MHz band in AM mode while receiving on the 144 MHz band in FM mode. This function will be a significant advantage when participating in contests, or DX hunting. Furthermore, the IC-9700 is Full Duplex which enables you to transmit on the main band while receiving on the sub-band allowing you to enjoy Satellite operation.

Audio Scope Function
Making good use of the Audio Scope function, various Audio characteristics, such as microphone compressor level, filter width, notch filter width, and keying waveform in CW mode can be monitored. Transmit or receive audio can either be displayed on the FFT scope and the oscilloscope.

Newly Designed Power Amplifier
The power amplifier outputs stable power with high efficiency (144/430 MHz band: 100/70 watts). The cooling system prevents the PA’s temperature from rising, even when operating for a long time. That enables reliable operation during contests. This amplifier is more energy efficient than previous models.

D-STAR Operating Functions
The IC-9700 has the D-STAR Repeater (DR) function. The DR function can be used on both the main band and sub band. Moreover, by using the DD mode, you can browse the Internet through a repeater station.

Built-in “Remote” Function, Terminal mode and Access Point mode
A static IP address can be set to the transceiver. If you set a global IP address to your router, you can use the Terminal mode or Access Point mode without remote software applications.

Almost Identical User Interface to the IC-7300
The layout of the dials and keys and the menu screens are almost the same as the IC-7300. If you are familiar with the IC-7300, the IC-9700 will be easy to operate. The IC-9700 is the perfect side-by-side companion to the IC-7300, enabling operation from HF to 1200 MHz.

Comprehensive Menus for Satellite Operation
The selectable Main, Sub, Normal, and Reverse Satellite Screen menus make Satellite operation easier. Even in Satellite mode, you can use the high-quality spectrum scope.

Normal and Reverse Tracking functions
In addition to Reverse Tracking function there is also a Normal Tracking function that simultaneously increases or decreases both the downlink and uplink frequencies in the same steps.

AFC function
Automatic Frequency Control follows the frequency change caused by the Doppler effect thus maintaining a stable receive condition.

Up to 99 Satellite Memory channels
The IC-9700 has 99 satellite memory channels that allow you to store both uplink and downlink frequencies and operating mode.
