OUTBOARD ENGINES
In order to eliminate the chances of hitting bottom with an outboard motor, the motor can be tilted up to an elevated position either electronically or manually. This helps when traveling through shallow waters where there may be debris that could potentially damage the motor as well as the propeller. If the electric motor required to move the pistons which raise or lower the engine is malfunctioning, every outboard motor is equipped with a manual piston release which will allow the operator to drop the motor down to its lowest setting

- Big Power: The 5.3-liter V8 configuration is designed to easily produce 350 prop shaft horsepower, with less stress and strain on internal engine components than small displacement, high-output outboards. Four oversized valves per cylinder increase breathing efficiency and contribute significantly to the F350C’s power and torque.
- More Torque: Variable camshaft timing and individual, long intake air tracks provide the engine substantially greater torque between 2000 and 3500 RPM. This planes large offshore boats with authority.
- Optimum Performance: Seven different sensors constantly measure vital atmospheric conditions and engine functions to give the Engine Control Module (ECM) the information needed to precisely and instantly adjust the fuel/air mixture for optimum performance and economy.
- Compact Design, Efficient Exhaust: Precision Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection works in concert with long tube intake tracks and Yamaha’s exclusive Dual In-Bank™ Exhaust System for maximum efficiency and compact design. Dual In-Bank™ Exhaust means it exits through the center of the engine between the “V” of the cylinders, rather than on the exterior sides, to allow for a more compact shape. The dual exhaust helps the F350C more easily purge the exhaust for greater combustion efficiency and power.
- Power and Efficiency: Air enters each cylinder through individual long intake tracks, which are ‘pulse tuned’ to provide air at the precise volume and timing for maximum density and power. The result is low-end and mid-range power and torque.
- Strong and Stable: Its strong-forged, aluminum motor mounts are compressed in molds for greater strength than cast aluminum mounts, and its oversized mounting bracket features six bolts (two more than our F250) to minimize noise and vibration
- Ultimate Corrosion Resistance: Whether you have a signature Yamaha gray or new pearlescent white F350C, your outboard is protected by Yamaha’s Ultimate Corrosion Protection System. This includes proprietary alloys, our Phaze Five™ paint process and sacrificial anodes placed in and around the power head, mid-section and lower unit to draw corrosion away from vital engine components. A freshwater flush device also helps wash out corrosives, post run.
- Built Tough: Streamlined design incorporates hardened gears and high-strength, oversized bearings and bearing surfaces to handle the tremendous power of the F350C. It also features eight forged pistons that are formed under pressure for maximum strength, anodized for corrosion protection and coated with a layer of solid lubricant for added reliability.
- Better Cooling: Dual forward and side-mounted water inlets help keep the F350C cooler in a variety of applications and conditions. Dimpled cylinder sleeves also decrease oil consumption and increase cooling surface areas.
- Enhanced Cowling Drain System: This drains away water that enters the cowling during normal operation by routing incoming air through a labyrinth of passages. This traps and drains water before it enters the engine’s intake.
- Water Intrusion Resistance: F350C has a Tri-Seal latch system to ensure a better fit and seal between the cowling and the lower pan. This means increased resistance to water intrusion for even greater levels of reliability.
- Complete Control: The F350C is compatible with new Helm Master® with Set Point™. This fully integrated digital boat control system features a new suite of Set Point™ modes, including Fish Point™, Drift Point™ and Stay Point™. These modes offer superior boat control for fishing, controlled drifting and maintaining position while waiting at a fuel dock. The F350C is also compatible with our Command Link Plus® and Command Link® control platforms.
- Simple & Compact: Advanced engineering features spark plug caps with the ignition coils build right in. It results in increased performance and reliability in a much simpler and more compact design.
- Efficient Combustion: Individual sensors constantly monitor the condition of the combustion in each cylinder for incomplete combustion. Should this occur, they immediately signal the Engine Control Module (ECM) to adjust spark timing to correct it.
- Precision Trolling: With Variable Trolling RPM Control, Command Link® gauges allow you to adjust the engine’s trolling speed from 600 ~ 1000 rpm, in 50-rpm increments with the press of a button. This provides consistent trolling speeds in a wide array of conditions.
- Costs Less at the Pump: Unlike other outboards in its class, the F350C runs on economical 89 octane. This cuts down on the operating costs, without diminishing power
- Gray or White: Choose the look of your F350C, which is now available in signature Yamaha gray or new pearlescent white.

Go Lean, Clean and Green, Go Suzuki!
- Maximizing Fuel Economy And Performance: With the launch of the new generation DF115A, our engineers have delivered a trio of outboards that offer great fuel economy without sacrificing on performance. This has been achieved by employing our advanced Lean Burn Fuel Control System.
- Transferring Power Into Speed: Our in-line four cylinder outboards utilise aggressive gear ratios that enable these outboards to swing a larger prop. The combination of a large prop and lower gear ratio delivers plenty of torque, exhilarating acceleration and exciting top-end speed.
- All Torque: With acceleration and manoeuvrability high on the list of priorities it is no surprise that the DF140, with its excellent power to weight ratio, was one of the models selected for use at the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games Sailing Regatta.
- Innovative Technology: The DF115A includes an O2 Sensor Feedback System that helps to keep emissions cleaner and more stable. In addition to this the DF140A and DF115A also benefit form a knock sensor that detects and controls abnormal combustion allowing the engine to operate at optimum performance.
- Cleaner, More Efficient Operation: Suzuki utilizes a number of its advanced technologies to deliver cleaner, more efficient operation that conforms to the Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) – Directive 2003/44EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, and has received three-star ratings from the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
- Maximizing Fuel Economy, Maximizing Performance: Recognizing a need for more fuel-efficient outboards, Suzuki developed and introduced its innovative Suzuki Lean Burn Control System on the DF90A/80A/70A outboards, which received great acclaim from boaters and the media alike. The system predicts fuel needs according to operating conditions allowing the engine to run on a more efficient fuel mixture through the use of a lean air to fuel ratio. Its benefits are delivered over a wide operating range providing significant improvements in fuel economy from low-speed operation up into the cruising range.
- O2 Sensor Feedback Control System: Like Suzuki's flagship DF300AP, the DF140A/115A/100A feature an O2 Sensor Feedback Control system that keeps emissions cleaner and more stable. By controlling the air to fuel ratio across each of the engine's operating ranges, the system provides an optimum amount of fuel to the engine regardless of rpm.
- DOHC 4-valve Engine: Suzuki has a long history of designing and manufacturing engines for motorcycle, automobile, and marine use. Drawing upon this unrivaled experience Suzuki engineers have designed an in-line four cylinder engine that delivers high power output, high performance, excellent fuel economy, and efficient operation. With a displacement of 2,044cm3, the in-line four-cylinder block is topped with a high performance 16-valve, dual overhead cam (DOHC) powerhead.
- Obtaining Maximum Performance: The 115A utilizes an enhanced air intake system that maximizes airflow into the engine to obtain greater power output. In order for this system to achieve full potential, greater exhaust efficiency is required as well, so the engines are designed with an efficient "4 into 2 into 1" exhaust system that reduces drag in the exhaust letting it flow smoothly out of the cylinders. This design increases low to mid-range torque on these outboards and provides the wide powerband that boaters want. The 115A also features a two-stage reduction gear that delivers the torque needed to turn a large diameter propeller. This is normally done using larger gears or a larger gearbox, but Suzuki has long employed a two-stage system that provides the required torque without adding unwanted bulk or weight to the engine. With a final drive ratio of 2.59, these outboards produce plenty of torque for quick acceleration. It also features a two-stage reduction gear that delivers a larger gear ratio of 2.59. On the drive shaft, the first stage reduction delivers a ratio of 1.24 while the second stage, in the gear case itself, delivers a further reduction of 2.08. The biggest gain this system delivers is in its capability to use a highly efficient, large pitch, large diameter propeller.
- Knock Sensor: The DF140A and DF115A are Suzuki's first four-cylinder outboards featuring a knock sensor. Found on some V6 models, this system is used to detect and control abnormal combustion allowing the engine to operate at optimum performance. The system increases engine durability and helps deliver maximum power.
- Multi-point Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection: Multi-Point Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection is Suzuki's sophisticated fuel injection system found on Suzuki outboards from the DF40A to DF 300A. The system uses a 32-bit computer in the electronic control unit to monitor vital operating data gathered from a series of sensors located in critical areas on the engine. Processing this data in real time, the system automatically calculates the optimum amount and exact timing of fuel to be injected at high pressure into the combustion chamber. Benefits include smoother and faster acceleration, crisp throttle response, maximum fuel economy, low emissions, and quick, reliable starts.
- Suzuki Water Detecting System: Water in the fuel can lead to problems that include poor combustion, lower power output, and corrosion. The Suzuki Water Detecting System is designed to help protect the engine from moisture in the fuel utilizing a water detecting fuel filter to alert the operator with both visual and audio warnings when water is present in the fuel. The filter also designed to let you check for water visually.
- Suzuki Troll Mode System (optional): The Suzuki Troll Mode System is optionally available on all three outboards. This system provides finer control over engine speed at low rpms keeping the boat moving at a steady speed while trolling. When the system is engaged, engine speed is controlled with an independent control switch that adjusts engine revs in 50rpm increments over a range that spans from idle to 1,200rpm. In addition to the control switch, which can be mounted nearly anywhere on the console, the system includes a tachometer and is compatible with Suzuki's SMIS digital gauges or the dual scale analog gauges.
- Offset Driveshaft: Pioneered by Suzuki, the use of the offset drive shaft on four-stroke outboards has long been utilized to reduce the size of the outboard. Found on all Suzuki four-strokes from the DF70A and up, this design positions the crankshaft in front of the drive shaft simultaneously moving the outboard's center of gravity forward. While the design contributes greatly to the outboard's overall compactness and increased power performance, it also moves the engine's axis of inertia, the point where engine vibrations are at a minimum, up over the upper engine mount, thus greatly reducing vibration. These outboards also incorporate two-stage gear reduction designed to take maximum advantage of the power produced by these high-performance engines. Providing a final drive ratio of 2.50:1—the largest you can find in either of these outboard classes—it delivers powerful torque for quick acceleration and great top-end speed.
- 2-Stage Gear Reduction: This system which incorporates the Offset Driveshaft features a first stage reduction between the crankshaft and driveshaft, and a second stage reduction inside the gear case. This design makes a larger gear ratio possible, allowing it to turn a large diameter propeller. Advantage: High propulsive efficiency with large diameter propeller, Powerful navigation, maintaining propeller rotation even with a larger load and increased power to turn large diameter propellers, offering quick acceleration.
- Lean Burn: Suzuki's innovative Lean Burn Control System was first introduced on the DF90A/80A/70A to great acclaim from boaters and the media alike. It predicts fuel needs according to operating conditions allowing the engine to run on a more efficient fuel mixture through the use of a lean air-fuel ratio. It delivers its benefits over a wide operating range, providing significant improvements in fuel economy from low-speed operation into the cruising range. Combining this system with the Suzuki Precision Control electronic throttle and shift system allows the operator precise control over engine RPM for improved fuel economy over a wider operating range. This combination also delivers smooth power transitions throughout the entire RPM range. In-house testing shows that while cruising, the DF300AP is 14% more economical than the original non-Lean Burn DF300 without sacrificing any power of the original DF300.
- Self-Adjusting Timing Chain: Suzuki's self-adjusting timing chain is featured on the DF60A which is the first outboard in the 44.1kW (60PS) class equipped with this maintenance free feature. The chain is oil-bathed and features an automatic hydraulic tensioner that keeps the chain properly adjusted at all times for maintenance free operation.
- Anti-Corrosion Finish: To guard against corrosion, Suzuki protects its outboards with its own specially formulated Suzuki Anti-Corrosion Finish. Applied directly to the outboard's aluminum alloy, this finish provides maximum bonding of the finish to the aluminum surface. Layering an epoxy primer undercoat, black metallic (or white) finish, and clear acrylic fiber finish on top of this forms an effective treatment against corrosion, protecting those parts of the outboard's aluminum alloy that are constantly exposed to saltwater.
- Two-Way Water Inlet: The engine's cooling system relies on water supplied through low water intakes located on the lower unit. Utilizing this dual low water inlet configuration increases water flow into the lower unit, which delivers greater cooling efficiency. Positioning the forward inlet at the gear case nose delivers a greater water supply especially at high speeds. The second inlet is also positioned lower allowing the engine to operate in shallow water conditions.
- Water Detecting System: Water in the fuel can lead to problems that include poor combustion, lower power output, and corrosion. The Suzuki Water Detecting System is designed to help protect the engine from moisture in the fuel utilizing a water detecting fuel filter to alert the operator with both visual and audio warnings when water is present in the fuel. The filter is also designed to let you check for water visually.

The DF6 brings 4-stroke performance and efficiency to portable outboards. Compact and lightweight, the DF6 is easy to transport and delivers surprising low- and mid-range torque for quick acceleration.
Knowing that small portables like the DF6 get transported a lot, we set out to design this outboard compact and lightweight to make transporting easier. Not to stop there, we added features that would make its operation easy and more user friendly. As four-strokes, the DF6 outboard deliver clean, economical operation, and being made by Suzuki, you know it delivers excellent power, performance, and durability.
- More Compact And Much Lighter: While maintaining the engine displacement of 138 cc, the conventional design has been overhauled and downsized to realize 1.0kg weight reduction (24.0kg). The lighter weight has improved operability. Along with weight reduction, the carrying handle integrated into the lower cover which has been rounded and made easier to hold, and an additional grip at the front further improve its portability.
- Enhanced User-friendliness: The overhead integral fuel tank and the new lubricating systems allow transport and storage of the outboard on any of three sides (port, starboard, or front) without leakage of fuel or oil. Because the overhead fuel tank is placed right above the carburettor, it also allows gravity fuel supply, enabling the engine to start instantly right after filling fuel, even after long-term storage. These features have enhanced its user-friendliness as a portable outboard motor.
- Lightweight: In addition to a reincarnated stylish appearance, the newly designed and developed Suzuki DF6A,DF5A and DF4A boast the unrivaled lightweight, 24.0Kg (S-shaft models). The lighter weight has improved portability as well as operability.
- Outstanding Handle Operation: An ease of handling that has enjoyed great popularity. Further improvements to the tiller handle have successfully mitigated vibrations contributing to fatigue and stress when transmitted to the hand during operation. The DF6A, DF5A and DF4A particularly excel at vibration mitigation in the mid-range.
- Offset Crankshaft: Positioning the crankshaft slightly off center of the cylinder reduces lateral pressure against the cylinder wall as the piston moves up and down in the cylinder. The result is smoother piston movement, which improves operating efficiency.
- Easy After-storage Start: Because the integral overhead fuel tank and one-way valve allow gravity fuel supply, the engine can be started without opening the engine cover, even after long term storage.
- Quiet Operation: The low noise level is the result of a silencer, designed to optimize the capacity and shape of the air intake. The new design of the rocker arm and the plane bearing of the crankshaft also help reduce the noise level. We also changed the structure of the parts related to the rocker arm and eliminated its excessive play. In addition, we changed the crankshaft bearing from a common ball type to a plane type.
- Highly Reliable Lubricating System: The forced lubrication system of the DF6A, DF5A and DF4A has an additional oil passage to the upper and lower crankshaft and connecting rod big end. The addition of a first-in-its-class** oil filter greatly increases the reliability of the lubricating system. Furthermore, the new position of the oil window allows for visual confirmation of the actual lubricating condition.
- Three-way Storage: The new fuel and lubricating systems allow extremely convenient storage of the outboard on any of three sides (port, starboard or front) without worrying about the storage orientation.
- Improved Portability Inner Handle: The carrying handle integrated into the lower cover has been rounded and made easier to hold.
- Improved Portability Outer Handle: An additional grip at the front of the lower engine cover provides the convenience of carrying the outboard with both hands.
- New Tilt System: The tilt system of the DF6A, DF5A and DF4A offers different up-and-down paths of the shallow drive arm compared with the previous models. When raised, it can be locked at three positions. When lowered, it can just be smoothly moved to its lowest position without locking.
- Suzuki's Anti Corrosion System: Suzuki protects its outboards with an anti-corrosion finish specially developed by Suzuki. Applied directly to the aluminum surface it maximizes the bond between the finish and the surface, increasing the protection and durability of parts that are constantly exposed to saltwater.
- Lower Emissions, Efficient Operation: Suzuki’s advanced four-stroke technologies deliver highly efficient operation and lower emissions. This allows Suzuki outboards to conform to some of the world’s strictest standards including the EURO 1 Emissions Standards (Directive 94/25/EC as amended by Directive 2003/44/EC), and receive a three-star rating from the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
- Quiet Operation: Suzuki four-stroke outboards have long been noted for their exceptionally quiet operation. Suzuki engineers go to great lengths incorporating methods designed to keep outboard operation as quiet as possible.
- Three-way Storage: The new fuel and lubricating systems allow extremely convenient storage of the outboard on any of three sides (port, starboard or front) without worrying about the storage orientation.
